“HACKATHON”, A New Project for Young People by ACPD
The Albanian Center for Population and Development (ACPD) with the support of Tirana European Youth Capital ’22, the National Youth Congress, and the Municipality of Tirana held today the first two-day online training. This training was mentored by the Italian experts Andrea Alfieri, Alberto Giusti, Alberto Briatico, Giulia Sironi, and Livia Caruso, who combined informative and academic sessions to the benefit of young people who are eager to learn a work methodology and to create the toolkit that allows them to structure and design project ideas.
The purpose of this project is to bring successful young Italian startups to meet and train young Albanians who are interested in developing startups in the future, thus managing to attract local and international investments.
The training course will be based on a critical thinking approach, learn techniques of design and production of products and services, as well as to enhance knowledge on business plan development and implementation.
The last phase, the Hackathon, will be concluded with the presentation of projects produced by young people, which will be evaluated by a jury of experts and successful businessmen selected from Tirana and Turin, Italy. Working in a team, the young people will be invited to present their business ideas according to the methodology they have learned. The main purpose of the Hackathon is to “preparing for the launch of Guilds42 in Albania”, called Albania42.
Guilds42 is a free learning platform that enables young people to prepare a career in Digital. This platform aims to create opportunities in the digital world by allowing people to subscribe and have free access to hundreds of Learning Paths (certification and courses) offered by some of the most important digital companies in the world (Google, Facebook, Hubspot, SAP, Salesforce etc).
Evaluation criteria of each group:
- Number of completed certification (cumulative per group) on the Guilds24 platform – 40%
- Quality of work developed – 30%
- Presentation skills – 30%
