Two-days workshop with members of the Referral Mechanism for the treatment of gender-based and domestic violence’ cases in Korça.

UNFPA Albania, UNFPA EECARO and East European Institute for Reproductive Health (EEIRH), in collaboration with UNDP Albania  and coordinated by the Albanian Centre for Population and Development, an implementing partner of UNFPA, organized in Korça on 23 and 24 October, a two-days workshop on: “Strengthening the multi-sectoral service provision to gender-based and domestic violence victims/survivors”. The main aim of this workshop was to discuss the multi-sectoral response to provide the needed services for gender based and domestic violence’ victims/survivors, focusing in particular on the Global Guidelines for Essential Services for Women and Girls Subject to Violence as well as on the Regional Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for key sectors that provide such services. Participants in this workshop were members of the Referral Mechanism for the treatment of gender-based and domestic violence’ cases in Korça, respectively representatives of: Municipality and Administrative Units, Police Directory, Regional Education Department, Court, Regional Office of State Social Service and Health sector. UNFPA ECCARO’ representative and EEIRH’ expert presented to the members of the Referral Mechanism in Korça the Global Guidelines for Essential Services as well as Regional Standard Operating Procedures, while the representative of UNFPA Albania, the one of UNDP and ACPD’ expert, encouraged discussions and exchange of participants’ ideas on how to practically implement such modules and procedures in Albania. Participants’ comments and feedback will be reflected in the work being done to adapt these instruments and their use from the already established Referral Mechanisms or even from those that will be established in the future.
